Bakery Project


This new term ushers in one of the most daunting projects we will face all year, our bakery projects. Basically we create a mock bakery, complete with our own costed recipes, lists of equipment, name and operating procedures, and than we host a bake sale for a day. Not alot of people realize how much work is behind all of this, but at least it is engaging work. I am looking forward to this, and actually got a jump start on some things like the name and some recipes.

As for the name I can think of nothing wittier than "The House of the Rising Bun". I suggested it to a baker last year and I haven't been able to outdo it sense. I don't really lean to any real aspect of baking so I would like it to be a general bakery, of course I would supply some gluten free goods as well. We work in teams so they will obviously influence the outcome of the project, but I am still looking forward to the challenge.
