So the End of the Year Celebration for the Culinary and Baking and Pastry students of OCCI is rapidly approaching. A time when we all congregate together and recieve our "certificates". It is pretty much an unofficial graduation ceremony (because we must complete our externships to actually recieve our degrees). For this ceremony I have been asked to write and give a speech.
First of all this is incredibly intimidating because of the stage fright factor, but also because I am going to be giving this speech in front of all of the Chefs at the school, fellow classmates and all my friends and family. No pressure or anything.
I have finally come to the point where I cannot put off writing this speech any longer. There is no more room for procrastination. Step one: What do I write about? I have been in Coos Bay, OR for two years now, I have not only been a student, I am a culinary ambassador, and I have worked at Dining Services all year long. Along with that I have been a part of many events with OCCI, everything from weddings to the Wild Game Dinner that took place in Portland. You would think it would be easy for me to come up with a few things to write about. For some reason that seems easier said than done. How could I ever put all of the amazing and crazy expriences I have had at OCCI into a five minute speech? I really dont know where to start, so far I have a whopping two sentences of a speech written. In the meantime, I figured I should write my blogs. Wish me luck............
