The sound of live music echoed through the street as the aroma of freshly cooked seafood filled the air. The energetic atmosphere attracted people in the community to the festivities to enjoy good food, good music and an all around good time. Local artists, winemakers and food vendors set up shop to showcase their specialties. The Oregon Coast Culinary Institute was no exception to the legion of individuals involved with the event.
Those of us who took part in the exciting occasion started our day at 8:00am at OCCI. We loaded the trucks up with equipment and food and we were off on our Clamboree adventure. After setting up our booth, we opened for business at 10:00am. The menu included New England Clam Chowder, Oyster shooters, Shrimp cocktail, Crab cocktail, coleslaw and Razor Clam Po' Boys. The food was delicious, and the enthusiasic and happy faces of the passersby made the long hours of preparation and setup all worth while. For anyone who has not taken part in the Clamboree merriment, I highly recommend it for next years clam filled affair.
