Southwestern Oregon Community College is hosting a guest chef from sister college Hyejeon College in South Korea later this month.

Chef Jung Won Jeon is expected to arrive Nov. 13 and stay until Nov. 21. Her visit will include sight-seeing on the South Coast, as well as teaching a class for Oregon Coast Culinary Institute students and a community education class in Korean cooking.

The community education class is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 19 at OCCI and the cost to participate is $40. Local resident Gil Nim Kim will be translating for the chef. For more information about community cooking classes or to register, those interested can call (541) 888-7415.
