OCCI club selling decadent cakes for Valentine’s Day

The Oregon Coast Culinary Institute Baking and Pastry Club at Southwestern Oregon Community College is producing one-of-a-kind hand-crafted cakes perfect for Valentine’s Day gifts.

A variety of delectable cakes are available, and they provide the right touch for a fabulous night out or a romantic evening at home. The cakes are $8 each and all proceeds go to benefit the OCCI Baking and Pastry Club’s activities and trips. Orders need to be placed by Feb. 9, and cakes can be picked up on Feb. 14.

The following flavors are available:

  • White Chocolate Passion Fruit: Layers of white cake accompanied by passion fruit mousse with Italian butter cream frosting topped with white chocolate shavings;
  • Strawberry Amaretto Angel Food: Strawberry amaretto mousse sandwiched between delicate layers of angel food cake, garnished with fresh ripe strawberries;
  • Mocha Hazelnut Torte: Multiple layers of dark chocolate, devil’s food and mocha sponge cake and hazelnut mousse crowned with dark chocolate caramel ganache; and
  • Raspberry Black Forrest: Dark chocolate cake with chocolate meringue and raspberry mousse highlighted with raspberry sauce.
