Culinary Institute Baking for Charity

Charity (126 KB)

Anyone in the area can become a key ingredient and help the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute (OCCI) end childhood hunger in America. OCCI at Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Coos Bay campus is hosting the Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale. The national campaign, presented by Domino Sugar and C&H Sugar, seeks to mobilize Americans to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their own communities.

OCCI’s Baking and Pastry Program students have created the menu of items for the bake sale. The freshly baked goods will include:

  • Danishes - Fruit filled Danishes, Cinnamon Buns, and Sticky Buns
  • Cookies - Chocolate Chip, White chocolate chunk, Peanut butter, and Walnut Brownies
  • Bread - Pain de Campaign (Country Bread), Walnut Basil Bread, and White Bread
  • Cakes - Devil's Food Layer Cake with Fudge Icing, Upside-Down Cake with Honey Glaze

OCCI’s charitable bake sale is Friday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. and anyone is welcome. Your generous support will ensure that children across the country get the regular, healthy meals they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
